Tuition and Family Commitment
HPA shows are tuition based programs.  Tuition is $150 per student cast in each HPA show (families receive a discount of $75 for each student after two).  Parents and entire families investing their time and talents together allow us to achieve high quality productions.  Families should be willing to commit to at least 40 volunteer hours, although many families serve much more.  There are many tasks and details that go into a production, and we will help you find something that works for you (i.e. jobs  at rehearsals, projects that can be done at home, etc).  Please review the "Family Commitment Form" before you decide to register for auditions.  We see time and time again that the parents and students working together to accomplish a common goal receive great blessing.  It can be a lot of work, but it will be a ton of fun and very satisfying to see your child grow through being a part of something exceptional!

Audition Monologues
Students ages 13 and up should prepare a 20 to 30 second monologue.  Memorization is encouraged but not required.  You can find monologues on-line or at your local library.  You can create your own, use a poem, or use lines from a book.  Please time it beforehand to be sure it fits within the allotted time.  No vulgar language or profanity.

Students who are 12 and under should prepare all of the following lines, regardless of gender or show for which they are auditioning (memorization is encouraged but not required):
--A-a-a-choo! I have served Madame for many years – and what thanks do I get? I’ve been reduced to a kitty chauffeur!
--Duchess, Kittens – I had a nice visit with my attorney today. I’ve decided to leave you all my money!
--Hey, we’re all the same under the fur. Gimme some skin!

Audition Singing
After you register, you will receive a confirmation email with the music required for auditions attached.

Perusal Scripts
For Kalamazoo and Lansing shows, please fill out THIS FORM.

For Grand Rapids, please check out the script you would like from The Home School Building Resource Center.

How to Register
1. Read the HPA Policy Page to be sure you can commit to the Dress Code and Conflict policies.  Understand that signing your audition form is a commitment to abide by these policies.

2.  Download the
detailed color calendar and make a list of all conflicts you will have. You can also see the listing of rehearsal dates and times on the webpage for each show.

3. Print the Family Commitment Form and complete it.  It must be turned in on audition day.

4. Download the audition form , complete it online, click submit, print a copy, sign it, and bring it on audition day.  We recommend saving the file to on your computer just in case there are technical problems and you need it later.

5. Click the submit button in order to register for auditions.  If for some reason you cannot send the registration through the submit button, save the file on your computer and then email it as an attachment to
busmgr@hpami.org

6. Within 48 hours, you will receive a confirmation of your registration with the exact registration time to which you are assigned. IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE THIS CONFIRMATION, YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED! Please contact Mrs. Bishop at
busmgr@hpami.org to determine the problem if you do not receive a confirmation email.

Registration Times For August 9, 10, and 12

Students will be registered for the audition time which corresponds with their age and the show(s) for which they are auditioning. Audition schedule exceptions will be made only at the director's discretion.
If multiple students in one family are registering, we understand this could be a long day (similar to the long hours of show weeks).  Generally, students will be assigned within the following time slots:

   8:00 - 10:30 - Males, Ages 8-12
   8:45 - 12:30 - Females, Ages 8-12
 11:00 - 3:00 - Males, Ages 13+
   1:30 - 5:00 - Females, Ages 13+ (half of them as assigned)
   3:30 - 7:00 - Females, Ages 13+ (half of them as assigned)

Call Backs:  7:00-10:00 for all groups

If needed, students will be asked to return for callbacks prior to leaving from their initial audition. The purpose of call backs is to allow the directors to look more closely at prospective cast members.  Getting called back does NOT guarantee that you will be cast in the show, and not getting called back does NOT mean that you are not going to be cast in the show.
